{"id":420,"date":"2011-07-10T18:03:19","date_gmt":"2011-07-10T22:03:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tfr.info-safety.com\/?p=420"},"modified":"2011-07-23T09:31:13","modified_gmt":"2011-07-23T13:31:13","slug":"tech-tips-for-cat-owners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tfr.info-safety.com\/?p=420","title":{"rendered":"Tech Tips for Cat Owners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Admittedly, you don&#8217;t have to have a cat crawling across your keyboard for some of these things to happen<\/strong>, but the likelihood is dramatically increased if you do.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your Computer Screen is Turned Sideways<\/strong>.\u00a0 Some video cards use the key sequence CTRL-ALT-Left Arrow to rotate the display.\u00a0 Try pressing CTRL-ALT-Up Arrow to change it back.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wireless no longer works on your laptop<\/strong>.\u00a0 It worked the last time you used it (before the cat crawled across the keyboard &#8212; or before you brought it back from a trip &#8212; take your pick).\u00a0 Chances are good that your wireless radio got switched off.\u00a0 Various Dells use Fn\/F2 to switch on\/off; various Toshibas \u00a0 use Fn\/F8; others may use other key sequences or a switch on the top, front or side.\u00a0 The label may look something like this: <a href=\"http:\/\/tfr.info-safety.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/radio1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-434\" title=\"radio\" src=\"http:\/\/tfr.info-safety.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/radio1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"24\" height=\"23\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Your Taskbar Has Moved to the Side of the Screen<\/strong>.\u00a0 Right-click on a blank part of the taskbar, and make sure that <em>Lock the taskbar<\/em> is NOT checked.\u00a0 Left-click on a blank part of the taskbar, and while holding in the left mouse button, drag it back to where you want it, and release the left mouse button.\u00a0 <em>Voila<\/em>!\u00a0 Lastly, right-click on a blank part of the taskbar, and CHECK <em>Lock the taskbar<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your Multi-function Printer Frequently Cuts off Scans and Copies<\/strong>.\u00a0 Of course what you are trying to scan\/copy is properly aligned on the scanner glass, but sometimes copies are cut off in the middle. \u00a0 There&#8217;s a good chance that your printer has a button for 4&#215;6 photos, with the light next to it <em>lit<\/em>.\u00a0 Press the button and try again.\u00a0 Problem solved!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Someone makes nonsense posts in your Facebook account and forwards embarrassing emails when you&#8217;re away from your computer<\/strong>.\u00a0 A possible fix for this problem could also prevent numerous other computer mysteries, including the first three listed above.\u00a0 When you are away from your computer, keep it locked with a strong passphrase.\u00a0 The cat can probably guess simple passwords like <em>furball<\/em>, <em>fluffy<\/em>, and <em>catlover<\/em>!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Admittedly, you don&#8217;t have to have a cat crawling across your keyboard for some of these things to happen, but the likelihood is dramatically increased if you do.
